LOL-ccupants are least popular, least interesting to lowest income groups - the lowest income group polled - those making under $30,000 - had the least favorable view of the movement, at 26 percent, while those making over $100,000 gave the highest favorability rating to the movement, at 36 percent. - with the media trying to portray this as a populist movement, it's worth noting than two-thirds of those earning under $30,000 either haven't heard of the movement or have an unfavorable view of it. - http://campaign2012.washingtonexaminer.com/blogs/beltway-confidential/poll-ows-least-popular-among-lower-income-groups

The breakup of the OWS old fighters begins. Original OWS protesters leaving due to strife, dissent and violence. Two people who have been at Zuccotti Park from day one discuss how the internal order hasn’t worked for them. Sage: I’m leaving today, because this is no longer safe. Like, I had somebody– Q: I’m still recording. Sage: Sure. I had somebody in our sanitation team take a swing at me. And then I had like three really calm, friendly individuals telling me that they–that they didn’t just take a swing at me. It was, like, I was just ... Channing: Yeah. I had beef with sanitation ’cause they took my s*** down. They took my, like tent thing down that I made. Sage: Oh, sure, sure, I was just saying that. Q: But yeah, yeah, all I– Channing: Yeah, no–they took my stuff. They–I had like a little tarp tent at the end of the park. Their whole thing was they were trying to clean out some of the people that were doing, like, drugs and stuff. But they started with– Q: Drugs? Channing: Yeah. Oh, my God. But they started with my tent. And, like, they threw away my toiletries, my food, and, like, a bunch of papers I had, that were really important from the hospital. And then, like, I tried to get them to help me, like, rebuild the tent or something, and they’re like, “We didn’t do it, it wasn’t us,” and I’m like, “I saw you doing it.” Like, I got called from direct action because they doing it. Q: But I’ve got– Sage: Yeah, so– Q: –let me get you to just finish that, because– Sage: I’m just gonna say the same thing. I don’t call it corruption anymore, ’cause corruption is when a good thing goes bad. And what I think this is–people go, “Oh, they’re so stupid.” No, they’re not. They’re smart, for their purposes, which are not for this camp to function as a community. Q: Who’s “they”? You say, “they.” What do you mean–who’s “they”? Sage: Well, once you start pointing fingers, you get–you’re already co-opted. Q: Well, I mean, just general–I don’t know who you mean. I don’t know who you mean. Sage: It’s an entire–it’s an entire attitude and community of apathy, and focusing on problems. And focusing on–and I’m a part of it, and that’s why I’m leaving, ’cause I can’t get out of it. Like, just by being here, I’ve started focusing on good things, and then all of a sudden I get integrated. Q: How long have you been here? Sage: My name is Sage. I’ve been on the ground since Day One. Q: Since the 17th [of September]. Sage: Yeah. - http://biggovernment.com/publius/2011/11/03/unhappy-campers-at-occupywallstreet-im-leaving-today-because-this-is-no-longer-safe/ H/t Nh Tea Party

A pamphlet from a group calling itself the “Oakland Liberation Front” has surfaced that mocks any pacifists in the Occupy Oakland movement and calls for violence to achieve the “complete annihilation of capitalism.” - Given the past 24 hours in Oakland, which has seen destructive, violent riots and general chaos at the hands of the Occupiers, the underlying sentiments of the frightening flyer below seem completely in line with the goals of Occupy Oakland. - The pamphlet makes a series of statements about non-violent resistance, then lists a number of accusations about pacifists in the movement, including: “You are the subject that divides under the guise of unity and the people,“ and ”you are their unpaid soldiers.” - The pamphlet goes on to claim that peace signs and non-violence are “the exact forms of mediation the state requires to neutralize people’s individual assertion of their own desires [and] goals.” - The Oakland Liberation Front goes on to demand that any and all pacifists in the movement stand aside, while the real Occupiers violently take on the police and work to bring our entire system down. - Meanwhile, Oakland continues to burn. - http://www.theblaze.com/stories/oakland-liberation-front-leaflet-slams-pacifists-as-wimpy-unpaid-soldiers-of-the-banksters/ H/t Nh Tea Party

a group of demonstrators moved to break into the Travelers Aid building in order to, as some shouting protesters put it, “reclaim the building for the people.” - “We go from having a peaceful movement to now just chaos,” said protester Monique Agnew, 40. - The confrontation began after protesters started a large bonfire in the middle of a downtown street. Dozens of police in riot gear moved in on hundreds of protesters as the flames leapt more than 15 feet in the air from several large metal and plastic trash bins that had been pushed together. - Police warned protesters to clear out before firing several rounds of tear gas and “flash bang” grenades to clear the area. - In the aftermath of the police actions, protesters with cloth wrapped around their faces to protect them from the stench of the gas marched through the area chanting, “Whose streets? Our streets.” - City officials released a statement describing the spasm of unrest. - “Oakland Police responded to a late night call that protesters had broken into and occupied a downtown building and set several simultaneous fires,” the statement read. “The protesters began hurling rocks, explosives, bottles, and flaming objects at responding officers. Several private and municipal buildings sustained heavy vandalism. Dozens of protesters wielding shields were surrounded and arrested.” - in Oakland, parents and their kids, some in strollers, joined in by forming a “children’s brigade.” - http://www.theblaze.com/stories/riot-gear-and-bonfires-occupy-oakland-degenerates-into-chaos-overnight/

Violent, black-masked gangs always signal peaceful assembly.

Ayn Rand in Occupant camp: During one break, I noted an extremely out-of-place copy of Ayn Rand’s capitalist manifesto “The Virtue of Selfishness” peeking out of a box in the camp library along with the Dan Brown and Philip K. People are waking up to the fact that this is not constitutionally-protected assembly. (And if it were, it would not be daring Revolution and Occupation.) They want it both ways, and they want perfect safety while getting all the props for being Rebels on the Barricades.
